THE RACKETEER by John Grisham

I have been reading John Grisham on and off for probably fifteen years at least.  I first read THE FIRM before it became a movie.  I have recently fallen back into his books for two reasons.  The first is because I enjoy the writing.  The second is because they have recently been offering more and more unabridged audio from the library that I can listen to during my lonely solitary work day.  Listening to audio books is so much better, to me, than listening to the same stuff on the radio - plus if its unabridged, I could it towards my yearly goal.

This book was stuffed so full of things that could never happen it really made you think... Could this happen?  It follows Malcom Banister, a man who knows who killed a federal judge, and his manipulation of the system to get an early release from prison (for a crime he did not commit).  It was such an over-the-top story that I just couldnt help but like it.

I highly recommend the audio version - the man who narrates melted my heart.  Awesome sultry deep voice!
