11. THE CONFESSION by John Grisham

This book has made me further rethink my stance on the death penalty.  Given the uncertain nature of convictions, I am not firmly anti-death penalty after a long time of being pro.  I do believe that certain crimes are so reprehensible that they deserve that death - but given the amount of people who have been exonerated post execution or while on death row, I can not in good conscience think the method is working.  And if we can not be 100000% sure every time, then I don't think it should exist.  I would rather 10 guilty persons rot in jail their life than execute one innocent person.

I wish I there were more I could do.

Anyway, the story is fairly long winded but stuffed full of twists and turns.  Most of them predictable but the story is interesting and I really wanted to hang on until the end.  I cried when the wrongly convicted was executed and I cheered when they finally caught the real killer.
