Tatiana de Rosnay - Sarah's Key & A Secret Kept

Sarah's Key
This was my second book in my slow start of the New Year.  I absolutely loved this read.  If I could have sat with it for a whole day, I would have devoured it in one sitting.  The novel has historical reference to the Vel d'Hiv round up of many French Jews, mostly children.  This story follows Sarah - from her being taken from her home and what is hidden in that home which can only be discovered with her heart shaped key.  The book flips back and forth between Sarah's past and the present with Julia Jarmond who lives in Sarah's old home.  Julia searches for the truth behind Sarah and her family even though the outcome she wants may not happen.  She is determined to follow through on finding the truth regardless of who may be hurt.

I absolutely loved this novel.  I had never heard of Ms. de Rosnay before reading these books but I am so glad I have found her.  I hope she continues to write because I will continue to be a loyal fan!

A Secret Kept

Another good read.  Some parts did drag slightly but I very much enjoyed this story.  It is about a family who rarely speak and have tons of unsaid secrets.  A brother and sister are determined to find the truth behind their mothers death in the 1970's.  There is love, family drama, ill behaved teenagers and a hot mortician!  You must read to find out more.
