Happy 2011! The Happiness Project - Gretchen Rubin

I read this book for the meeting of our monthly book club.  I really liked the principles behind the project and I find her website very helpful for people wanting to start their own happiness project but I was really disappointed with the selection in the end.

After getting through the first two months of the resolutions I realized it was basically repeating over and over again.  The whining was a downer and I was really hoping it was more of a feel good how to instead of unloading all her personal problems.  And while I appreciate her admission of needing recognition for her actions, I felt like she didnt do anything to try and change that.  It was like she only did things for specific recognition and if she didn't receive that recognition it was like the people who did not acknowledge her were in the wrong, not her and I feel like she was wrong.  If you are only doing things for recognition why bother??? The whole book came across this way for me.  I guess I was turned off from the beginning.
