I was surprised by the ending. In 2009 I had been living in Duluth MN for 2 years, not far from where Rachel's family lived. This book reeled me into memories of my life in Duluth while my husband was stationed in Duluth with the US Coast Guard. It was the first home we built together as a married couple, and hearing about all of the locations, not to mention the true to form Minnesotan accent Joe Barrett speaks with, had me missing Duluth a little more then thought I would.
