2012 ~ Book 22 ~ The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

When I started this book I saw it going one way ~ Then almost to the end I started to fear the worst.  As I sat balling like a kid waiting to hear the ending, I was happy to hear the outcome for the most part.

I started reading this book because I want to see the movie and I dont believe in watching the movie before reading the book.  (Seriously ~ Its just WRONG ~ Dont do it!).  It moved quickly.  I hope the movie closely follows the book and doesnt leave out pertinent details.

I think I need to take a break from the emotionally heavy books for a little bit.  Its a little overwhelming to keep reading these guy wretching stories and crying through them.  I need something a little lighter ~ But what to read next?

From Publishers Weekly

U.S. Marine Logan Thibault carries a picture of a woman he'snever met because it brings him good luck. But when he sets out to find the woman, he is met with unexpected circumstances surrounding his new love and his shrouded past. Though not Sparkss most original tale, the story flows well and narrator John Bedford Lloyd delivers a solid performance. Lloyds deep bass tone is perfectly suited for Thibault, a manly man if ever there was one. Lloyds supporting characters are rich and interesting in their own right, some speaking in comical Southern drawls, others with a raw reality. The final result is quite touching without much over-the-top sentimentality on Lloyds part. A Grand Central hardcover. (Sept.)
