Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games Trilogy

After posting on Facebook that I was looking for some new reads, a girlfriend of mine suggested I read The Hunger Games Trilogy.  A set of three books by Suzanne Collins about a girl named Katniss Everdeen and the people surrounding her life.  The book takes place in the future when the world went to shambles and everything control was given to a new machine called The Capitol.  Each area was changed into districts ranging from 1 to 13.  Each year two children - a boy and a girl are sent into an arena to battle it out in what is called the hunger games.  The last person standing wins.  Unfortunately to win - you must kill your competition.  This three book set takes you through the life of Katniss from entering into the Hunger Games until the Capitol is destroyed.

I did not think I would like the series at all since it had sort of a Sci-Fi feel to me, but it was just the opposite.  I read all three of the books within a couple days, and now I am patiently awaiting the movie to come out like much of the rest of the world.  I hope the movie does the series justice.  It would be a shame for such a great set of books to be ruined by the big screen, which happens far too frequently.

The three books of the series are called:
The Hunger Games
Catching Fire
Mockingjay

I hope you'll pick them up!
